Friday
Evening
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners,
and that is God’s proof of his love towards us.
Romans 5: 8
2 Collect of the Day Daily Prayer
3 Song of Praise
1 Jesus, Saviour of the world,
come to us in your mercy:
we look to you to save and help us.
2 By your cross and life laid down
you set your people free:
we look to you to save and help us.
3 When they were on the point of perishing
you saved your disciples:
we look to you to come to our help.
4 In your great mercy
set us free from all that imprisons us:
forgive the sins of all your people.
5 Make yourself known
as our Saviour and our mighty deliverer:
save us and help us that we may praise you.
6 Come now and make your home among us,
Lord Christ Jesus:
hear our prayer and be with us always.
7 When you come in your glory,
make us one with you:
share with us the life of your kingdom.
8 Thanks be to you, O Lord:
Alleluia!
Amen.

7 Song of Praise
1 It is in Christ
that the Godhead in all its fullness
dwells embodied,
it is in him you have been brought to fulfilment.
2 Every power and authority in the universe
is subject to him as head.
3 You were buried with him in baptism,
and in that baptism
you were also raised to life with him,
4 through your faith in the active power of God,
who raised him from the dead.
5 He has cancelled the bond
which was outstanding against us
with all its legal demands;
he has set it aside, nailing it to the cross.
6 There he disarmed
the cosmic powers and authorities
and made a public spectacle of them,
7 leading them as captives
in his triumphal procession.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.
9 Thanksgivings and
Intercessions
Prayers for the season
10 Final Collect
Almighty God,
your beloved Son, for love of us,
willingly offered himself to endure the cross,
its agony and shame.
Remove from us all coldness
and cowardice of heart,
and give us grace to take up our cross
and follow him in humility and love;
through the same Jesus Christ
our Saviour and Lord. Amen.
Loving God,
your Son willingly endured
agony and shame for us.
Give us grace
to take up our cross and follow him,
till at the last we come with him to glory,
where he lives and reigns
with you in the unity of the Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
11 Conclusion
Preserve us, O God, while waking,
and guard us while sleeping,
that awake we may watch with Christ,
and asleep may rest in peace.
Amen.
