Thursday
Morning
Let all mortals be silent
in the presence of the Lord!
For he has bestirred himself
and come out from his holy dwelling-place.
Zechariah 2: 13
2 Collect of the Day Daily Prayer
3 Song of Praise
1 In days to come
the mountain of the Lord’s house
will be set over all other mountains,
raised high above the hills.
2 All the nations will stream towards it,
and many peoples will go and say:
3 ‘Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
4 ‘that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.’
5 For instruction comes from Zion,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
6 He will be judge between the nations
as arbiter among many peoples.
7 They will beat their swords into mattocks
and their spears into pruning-knives;
8 nation will not lift sword against nation
nor ever again be trained for war.
9 Come, people of Jacob.
let us walk in the light of the Lord.
11 and given us great gladness.
To you be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

7 Song of Praise
1 In the time of my favour I answered you;
on the day of deliverance I came to your aid.
2 I have formed you,
and destined you to be a light for peoples,
restoring the land
and allotting once more its desolate holdings.
3 I said to the prisoners, ‘Go free’,
and to those in darkness,
‘Come out into the open.’
4 Along every path they will find pasture
and grazing in all the arid places.
5 They will neither hunger nor thirst,
nor will scorching heat or sun distress them;
6 for the one who loves them will guide them
and lead them by springs of water.
7 Shout for joy, you heavens; earth rejoice;
break into songs of triumph, you mountains.
8 For the Lord has comforted his people
and has had pity on them in their distress.
9 Lord, you are our Deliverer, our Redeemer;
10 Lord, you are the Mighty One of Jacob.
to you be all glory for ever and ever.
Amen.

10 Final Collect
Lord Christ,
we are strangers and pilgrims on the earth,
disconcerted by the world's violence
and its sorrow,
distracted by our inward doubts and fears.
Wherever we are on this day's journey,
breathe on us your gentle Spirit,
that we may be oases
of quietness and refreshment,
bringing to your uneasy world
reconciliation and peace. Amen.
Eternal God,
you have set before us the great hope
that your kingdom will come on earth,
and have taught us to pray for its coming.
Make us ready to thank you
for the signs of its dawning,
and to pray and work for the perfect day
when your will shall be done on earth
as it is in heaven;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
11 Conclusion
May the High God shield us all the day long.
May we dwell under his protection
today and for ever. Amen.
