No one has ever seen God;
God’s only Son,
he who is nearest to the Father’s heart,
has made him known. St John 1:18
2 Collect of the Day Daily Prayer
3 Song of Praise
1 Great and marvellous are your deeds,
O Lord God, sovereign over all;
2 just and true are your ways,
O King of the ages.
3 Who shall not fear you, Lord,
and do homage to your name?
For you alone are holy.
4 All nations shall come and worship before you,
for your just decrees stand revealed.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

7 Song of Praise
1 My soul tells out the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour;
2 for he has looked with favour on his servant,
lowly as she is.
3 From this day forward
all generations will count me blessed,
for the Mighty God has done great things for me.
4 His name is holy,
his mercy sure from generation to generation
toward those who fear him.
5 He has shown the might of his arm,
he has routed the proud and all their schemes;
6 he has brought down monarchs
from their thrones,
and raised on high the lowly.
7 He has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away empty.
8 He has come to the help of Israel his servant,
as he promised to our forefathers;
9 he has not forgotten to show mercy
to Abraham and his children’s children for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

10 Final Collect
Eternal God and Father,
you create us by your power
and redeem us by your love:
guide and strengthen us by your Spirit,
that we may give ourselves today
in love and service to one another and to you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O divine Master,
grant that we may not so much
seek to be consoled,
as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
in pardoning that we are pardoned;
in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
11 Conclusion
May the Lord of peace himself give us peace
at all times and in all ways.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with us all. Amen.
