The Spirit of the Lord         Isaiah 61: 1 - 3, 10, 11

1          The spirit of the Lord God is upon me

because the Lord has anointed me;

he has sent me to announce

good news to the humble,

2          to bind up the broken-hearted,

            to proclaim liberty to captives,

            release to those in prison;

3          to comfort all who mourn,

to give them garlands instead of ashes,

4          oil of gladness instead of mourners’ tears,

a garment of splendour

            for the heavy heart.

5          They will be called trees of righteousness,

planted by the Lord for his adornment.

6          Let me rejoice in the Lord

with all my heart,

let me exult in my God;

7          for he has robed me in deliverance

and arrayed me in victory.

8          As the earth puts forth her blossom

or plants in the garden burst into flower,

9          so will the Lord God

            make his victory and renown

blossom before the nations.

    Glory to the Father, and to the Son,

    and to the Holy Spirit:

    as it was in the beginning, is now,

    and will be for ever.                       Amen.

A joyful assembly                           Hebrews 12: 22 - 24, 28

1          You have come to mount Zion,

the city of the living God,

the heavenly Jerusalem,

to myriads of angels,

2          to the full concourse

and assembly of the firstborn

who are enrolled in heaven,

3          and to God the judge of all,

and to the spirits of good men made perfect,

4          and to Jesus

the mediator of a new covenant,

whose sprinkled blood has better things to say

than the blood of Abel.

5          The kingdom we are given is unshakeable;

let us therefore give thanks to God for it,

6          and so worship God

as he would be worshipped,

with reverence and with awe;

giving glory to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Spirit,

one God, glorious for ever.                Amen.

 8         Apostles’ Creed

 9         Thanksgivings and Intercessions
            Prayers for the season

            Lord’s Prayer

10        Final Collect

God our Father,

at the first creation

you set the world’s corner-stone in place,

while the morning stars sang together

and the angels of God all shouted for joy.

In the new creation

your grace has dawned upon the world

with healing for all.

May Christ, the sun of righteousness,

shine in our hearts for ever

and draw us to that light

where you live in radiant glory;

through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

11        Conclusion

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

and the love of God,

and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,

be with us all.                                       Amen.
