There is a three year cycle of scripture sentences, as for the Lectionary. Year C started on 30 November 2003.

Nov 27-Dec 3 Advent 1

The watchmen raise their voices and shout in joy; for with their own eyes the see the Lord return to Zion. Isaiah 52:8

Dec 4-10 Advent 2

The Prophet of the Most High will be the Lord's forerunner, to prepare his way and lead his people to a knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins. Luke 1: 76-77

Dec 11-17 Advent 3

I shall stand at my post, I shall take up my position on the watchtower, keeping a look-out to learn what the Lord says to me. Habakkuk 2:1

Dec 18-24 Advent 4

Rejoice, daughter of Zion! I am coming, I shall make my dwelling among you, says the Lord. Zechariah 2:10

Nativity Proper 1

Arise, shine, for your light has come; and over you the glory of the Lord has dawned. Isaiah 60:1

Nativity Proper 2

Christmas 2

From the west the Lord's name will be feared, and his glory revered from the rising of the sun. His glory will come like a swift river on which the wind of the Lord moves. Isaiah 59:19

Jan 6 Epiphany

By the light of the Lamb shall the nations walk, and to it the kings of the earth shall bring their splendour. Revelation 21:24

Jan 7-13 Epiphany 1

Because God was merciful, he saved us through he water of rebirth and the renewing power of the Holy Spirit, which he lavished on us through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 3:5

Jan 14-20 Epiphany 2

Live lives worthy of the God who calls you into his kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:12

Jan 21-27 Epiphany 3

Consider how great is the love which the Father has bestowed on us in calling us his children! 1 John 3:1

Feb 2 Presentation

Bring an offering and enter his courts; tremble before him, all the earth. Psalm 96:8,9

Jan 28-Feb 3 Epiphany 4

You must be renewed in mind and spirit, and put on the new nature created in God's likeness. Ephesians 4:23-24

Feb 4-10 Epiphany 5

God is a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, long-suffering and ever constant, and he did not abandon us. Nehemiah 9:17

Feb 11-17 Epiphany 6

Lent 1

Lent 4

Holy Week Mon

One thing I ask of the Lord, it is the one thing that I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the dys of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

The word of God is alive and active. It cuts more keenly than any two-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12

My close companions abhor me, and those whom I love have turned against me. Job 19:19

Holy Week Thur

I give you a new commandment: love one another; as I have loved you, so you are to love one another. John 13:34

Good Friday

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah with his garments stained red, one splendidly attired, striding along with mighty power? Isaiah 63:1

Saturday

One who has been in prison may well rise to be king. Ecclesiastes 4:14

Easter Vigil

The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 1 John 2:8

Easter Day

God not only raised our Lord from the dead; he will also raise us by his power. 1 Corinthians 6:14

Easter Evening

Because I live, you too will live. John 14:19

Easter 2

They who look to God are radiant with joy; they will never be put out of countenance. Psalm 34:5

Easter 3

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst to see right prevail; they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5:6

Easter 4

Look after the flock of God whose shepherds you are. So when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive glory, a crown that never fades. 1 Peter 5:2,4

Easter 5

Ascension

I will be with you always, to the end of time. Matthew 28:20

Pentecost

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will bear witness for me. Acts 1:8

Trinity

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Stand firm and immovable, and work for the Lord always, work without limit, since you know that in the Lord your labour cannot be lost. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Aug 28-Sep 3

Humble yourselves under God's mighty hand, and he will lift you up. 1 Peter 5:6

Sep 4-10

We have set our hope on the living God, who is the Saviour of all. 1 Timothy 4:10

Sep 11-17

This is what love really is; not that we have loved God, but that he has loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to atone for our sins. 1 John 4:10

Sep 18-24

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, long-suffering and ever faithful. The Lord is good to all; his compassion rests upon all his creatures. Psalm 145:8-9

Sep 25-Oct 1

Your word is everlasting, Lord; it is firmly fixed in heaven. Your faithfulness endures for all generations. Psalm 119:89-90

Sep 29 Michaelmas

Do not neglect to show hospitality; by doing this, some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

Oct 2-8

Join in the struggle for that faith which God entrusted to his people once and for all. Jude 3

Oct 9-15

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures for ever. Psalm 106:1

Oct 16-22

Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Oct 23-29

The Lord is kind and forgiving, full of love towards all who cry to him. Psalm 86:5

Nov 1 All Saints

They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the Lord. Isaiah 62:12

Oct 30-Nov 5

You are reaping the harvest of your faith, that is, salvation for your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

Nov 6-12

God who is the ground of hope, fill you with all joy and peace as you lead the life of faith until, by the power of the Holy Spirit, you overflow with hope. Romans 15:13

Nov 11 Remembrance

God is our refuge and our stronghold, a timely help in trouble; so we are not afraid though the earth shakes. Psalm 20:7

Nov 13-19

Obey your orders without fault or failure until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ which God will bring about in his own good time. 1 Timothy 6: 14,15

Nov 20-26

From you, Bethlehem, will come a king for me, one whose origins are far back in the past. He will rise up to lead Israel in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord. Micah 5:2,4

Nov 30 St Andrew

A harvest of light has arisen for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Psalm 97:11

Christian Unity

Through the Holy Spirit God has given us, God's love has flooded our hearts. Romans 5:5

Spring

Blessed is anyone who trusts in the Lord, and rests his confidence in him. He will be like a tree planted by the waterside that sends out its roots along a stream. When the heat comes it has nothing to fear; its foliage stays green. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Harvest

There are many who say, "If only we might see good times! Let the light of your face shine upon us, Lord". But you have put into my heart a greater happiness than others had from grain and wine in plenty. Psalm 4:6-7

Dedication

Who may go up the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? One who has clean hands and a pure heart. Psalm 24:3-4
