I pray that your inward eyes may be enlightened, so that you may know how vast are the resources of his power open to us who have faith.
In the brightness of the new morning we come before you O Lord our God; in the assurance of the risen Christ your Son our Saviour we come before you; in the hope of life eternal with you the everliving God we come before you. We come before you because life matters O God & you are the giver of new life: new life for the babies born, new life for those who have lived in despair, new life for the whole community. In your great love & power you can transform life & so we seek your transforming power every day in our lives that we might praise you by out thoughts & words & deeds.
Gracious God we do not always give you honour in our living. We all too often put self before others. We live with our certainties our ways & we reject those who do not agree with us. Our failure to accept others is arrogance; our inability to forgive is wicked; our attempts to pedal our agenda using the name of Christ is blasphemous. Lord God we are sore in so many ways because we have failed others through our lack of love. Hear us as we confess our lack of love the sin we commit against you & against our neighbour………… May the almighty & most merciful God grant to us pardon & remission of all our sin, time for the amendment of life, confirm & strengthen us in all goodness & bring us to the life eternal.
Almighty & eternal God the strength of those who believe & the hope of those who doubt, may we who have not seen, have faith & receive the fullness of Christ’s blessing that we might celebrate his love in the world in our daily living & so bring praise to your most holy name who reigns in heaven & on earth the One eternal God Father Son & Holy Spirit. Amen.
