Easter Morn Year A
Intercessions:
On this day O God we pray for the church as she rejoices anew at the miracle of the Resurrection. We pray that Christians might find their faith strengthened as they share their belief in the risen Lord & that thru’ the power of your Spirit might celebrate all this means for humanity. Bless your church in her rejoicing that the message of new life & hope might become a reality for the troubled & distressed of this world……………..
Bless your church in her rejoicing that the poor might see their needs met; the hungry- fed; the thirsty given water and the homeless a place where they might feel secure…………..
Bless your church in her rejoicing that she might bring peace to this troubled planet…. Where people struggle for dignity, where they struggle for basic human rights, where they struggle for acceptance may your church be alongside them never resting until in the name of Christ all might live with respect, in peace & in love.
Bless your church in her rejoicing that those who fear the future with the strength of the church surrounding them might not fear again what tomorrow brings. May all who are fearful in this life be given the courage to walk with hope & confidence in their future……
Bless your Church in her rejoicing that she might take time to sit in silence with those who are struggling with health issues, with those who feel rejected, with those who are part of the many unloved on earth at this time…… may the church bring comfort to the sick the dying & the bereaved, may she bring acceptance for those rejected and may she in the name of her risen Lord bring love to the unloved of this world.
Bless your church in her rejoicing that with the saints who have gone before us, the whole host of heaven, loud alleluias might be proclaimed in this world & the next. This we ask in Jesus name who lives & reigns with you the father & the Holy Spirit & in whose words we pray Our Father who art in heaven……………
Thanksgiving:
Eternal God, with the whole church this day we give you thanks & praise for the glorious resurrection that you have bought for us in your Son Christ Jesus our Lord. We give you thanks for all this means for new life, new hope, new beginnings for us & all your people. We thank you that by the power of his resurrection the church has been enabled to bring peace, hope & love to the world. We give you thanks that by your power we can work for the establishment of your kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. We give you thanks for the reassurance & hope this day brings to all your children.
In token of our gratitude we ask you accept these gifts that they might be used for the furthering of Christ’s kingdom here on earth may they bring hope to many & may they provide for the maintenance of the gospel. This we ask in his name who lives & reigns with you the Father & the Holy Spirit, Christ Jesus to whom with you in the Holy Trinity be all honour glory majesty & praise. Amen.
