Advent 3 (Year B)

The lord is good to those who look to him, to anyone who seeks him; it is good to wait in patience for deliverance by the Lord.

Prayer

Eternal God, you are mystery, you are beyond our imagining yet we are called to communion with you. You are sovereign Lord, creator, all powerful, yet in your Son born for us in Bethlehem we see the innocent, the helpless, the weak. You are love, you are truth, you are peace & we come to acknowledge these gifts of yours to us, your children. We praise you O God most glorious that in this season of Advent you have engaged with us your children that we might see through mystery into the world you desire for us. Give us grace now to worship you & acknowledge your sovereignty in all things that we might have life in all its wonder & joy.

Gracious God we forget you in our daily living. We are too busy to recall your desire we live in communion with you & our neighbour. We thinks of self first & fail to live in love for others & your creation. We sin in thought word & deed & for this we truly repent. Hear us as we confess our sin before you...

May the almighty & most merciful God, grant to us pardon & remission of all our sin, time for the amendment of life, confirm & strengthen us in all goodness & bring us to the life eternal.

God of power & mercy you call us once again to celebrate the coming of your Son. Remove those things which hinder love of you, that when he comes he may find us waiting in awe and wonder of him; who lives and reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
