Epiphany 4 (Year B)

Call to Prayer…………..Blessed are the poor in Spirit the Kingdom of heaven is theirs.
Prayer………Eternal God who by your Spirit leads your people thru’ all times into the way of peace & truth we your people come this day to this place hallowed by the worship of many generations that we might seek your direction for our lives. We come to hear your word anew that we might be refreshed by the stories of faith & encouraged to go out into the world. We come bringing our thoughts & concerns that we might be given guidance. We come because we know that by your word made flesh you have invited us to live lives which reflect your desire for peace & harmony in the world.
Lord in life you have blessed us by your presence; you have shown us thru’ the example of your Son Christ Jesus our Lord that obedience to your will is not enslavement but is indeed the way to true freedom & life, yet we & all humanity choose our way the way of frailty, error & sin. We sin against you & against our neighbour in thought word & deed, hear us therefore as in the silence of our hearts we confess our sin………..

Kyrie………………………….

Almighty & most merciful God grant to us pardon & remission of al our sin, time for the amendment of life, confirm & strengthen us in all goodness & keep us in the life eternal.
Living God, in Christ you make all things new. Transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace, & in the renewal of our lives show forth your glory that the whole creation might be shown to reflect your wondrous act of love; thru’ Jesus Christ our Lord who is alive & reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, One God now and for ever.

Thanksgiving:
We thank you O God for the authority of your word in scripture; for its guidance in our lives, for its inspiration & its hope that it brings. We thank you for those who have lived by the power of your word & made real your teaching in the world. Most especially we thank you for the authority of your son Christ Jesus who has shown us we can live in obedience to your will & so live lives which reflect your love in the world.
In thanksgiving for all your goodness toward us we ask you accept these gifts this day. Use them for the furthering of Christ’s kingdom in this place & throughout the world. May they bring hope, healing and love to the lives of others. Use us that we may also be instruments of your goodness so praising you in thought word & deed. Amen.
