Call to Prayer…………
We can take courage and say, ‘The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Prayer………Eternal God the source of strength & confidence, faithful & constant we your people come before you this day mindful of your presence which brings order to our disordered world, grateful for your love which has sustained us when the journey has been hard; thankful that in the darkness your power burns like a light to lead us in safety. We praise you O God for your never leaving us to the forces of this world but always being with us, prompting us, holding us, guiding us. Give us grace to worship you & in our worship to see you anew that we might always follow in your way the way of perfect living..
Lord in your love for us you have shown the way of life which is Christ Jesus your Son. Give to us grace to confess those things in our living which would deny his love, which would hurt him, which would offend him…………… Almighty & most merciful God grant to us pardon & remission of all our sins, time for true repentance & amendment of life & the grace & comfort of the Holy Spirit.
O God our defender, when storms rage about us & cause us to be afraid, rescue your people from despair, deliver your sons & daughters from fear, & preserve us all from unbelief; thru’ your Son Jesus Christ our Lord who lives & reigns with you & the Holy Spirit, One God now and for ever. Amen.
Thanksgiving: We give you thanks O God for liberating us from the perils of so much of this life, from fear & want & war. We thank you for providing for us the things we need, liberty, love & freedom. We praise you for faith & family & we adore you for the life giving example of Christ our brother whose way of life is our challenge. Give to us grace in giving you these gifts to give of ourselves in the service of your church & kingdom & may we take risks that the gospel might be proclaimed & love celebrated in Christ’s name. Amen.
